K08 Awarded to Maeda!

Congratulations to Dr. Akiko Maeda (Palczewski lab) who has just been awarded a K08 award to fund her research for the next 5 years!!! Dr. Maeda is studying retinal degenerative diseases and working to develop models that will facilitate the evaluation of the safety and efficacy of drug candidates designed to combat retinal disease in humans.

A new Ph.D.!

We wish Yan Qu the best.  She successfully defended her dissertation "Regulation of Multiple Membrane Trafficking Pathways Stimulated by P2X7 Receptor Activation in Inflammatory Macrophages."  She is leaving Dr. George Dubyak's lab to continue her research as a PostDoctoral Fellow.

Dr. Youwei Zhang Joins Pharmacology Faculty

The Department of Pharmacology is pleased to welcome Dr. Youwei Zhang to its faculty! Dr. Zhang is an expert in the field of cell cycle and has published numerous articles on replication checkpoint. Read more about Dr. Zhang and his research.
