Graduate Student Efforts Feed the Hungry: Appreciation goes out to the graduate students of the Department of Pharmacology who collected 108 food items and $164 during the CWRU Graduate Student Senate (GSS) annual Food Drive. This is the third consecutive year that the Department of Pharmacology has earned the distinction of being the most generous during this annual event and has been honored with a financial prize from the GSS. At the suggestion of the students, the department fully supported the additional donation of this prize to the Cleveland Food Bank. The Cleveland Food Bank is one of the largest charities in Northern Ohio and potentially the largest metropolitan foodbank in the country. The Cleveland Foodbank supplies food for use in local soup kitchens, shelters and food pantries, child-care centers, group homes and programs for the elderly. For every $1 donation, the Foodbank is able to distribute enough food to prepare four nutritious meals for the hungry in the Cleveland area. The financial contributions received from the Department of Pharmacology alone will supply over 1800 meals.
